Self-Defense Safety Tips
Keep yourself safe from attackers by following these tips:
Situational Awareness
Experts agree situational awareness is the most important step in self-defense. You must recognize a threat before an attack to prepare the proper response. Avoid being alone, especially in dimly lit and remote areas. If you need to be alone after dark, find a way to stay in well-lit, public places with other people.
Distractions from cell phones & music devices reduce focus and should be used sparingly. Criminals look for distracted, easy targets. Natural instincts are not to be ignored and are many times an early warning of a threat. Do not become complacent even in environments you are familiar with. Always keep your guard up and make sure to elevate your awareness when you are in a high-risk environment.

Communication
Communication is a crucial step in determining a person's motives. Project confidence & strength through non-verbal body language, straight posture, shoulders back, and direct eye contact. Talk in a strong tone and warn a person to back off and move out of your personal space. The outcome of this command usually dictates an individual's intentions and is essential knowledge to the potential victim.
In an Attack
Escape is always option one. Make as much noise as possible by screaming for help and running away. When there is no alternative but to fight, do so like your life depends on it. The most effective targets on a male attacker are the eyes, throat, and groin.
We highly suggest taking self-defense classes to be more confident in defending yourself. Stay vigilant for opportunities to weaken or escape your attacker, and never get into their car, even if you are threatened. Statistics show a victim’s survival rate is significantly reduced when this happens.
Do not allow yourself to become the next victim. Be observant and stay aware!
